Re: New headset, no audio out
Problem solved. I needed to go into the Windows 7 sound properties and set the configuration levels for the new microphone. This mic required a higher input level setting than my previous unit. Once I boosted it up, PE could hear me 5/5.

New headset, no audio out
I just purchased a new Plantronics headset from Best Buy. I hear PE communications, but cannot get ATC to respond to my calls. I tested the mic output using MS Sound Recorder and was able to make and play back a recording of my voice, so I know the signal is getting into my PC. The Tx light on the P...

Suggestion for RWIFR Series
Hi Keith, I just finished RWIFR. Thanks for a look into the busy east coast airspace. I especially appreciated that you left in all the "gotchas" that go along with operating in the IFR environment. You could have edited them out, but I think it made the series more valuable to leave them ...

Re: Question about TEC routes
Thanks. That clears it up. It would seem that the FAA needs to find another name without "Tower" in it. Especially when the AIM still has a listing for "Tower to Tower" in it's index that references TEC.

Question about TEC routes
Here in the midwest we don't encounter TEC routes. My understanding from reading the AIM is that ATC is provided by control towers along the route so as to relieve congestion on ARTCC frequencies. Whenever I fly a TEC route on PilotEdge, I get passed to SoCal Approach on various frequencies as I fly...

Re: PEaware not archiving my flights in N4336D
Thanks Tim, I think I've been disconnecting too soon after arriving at my destination airport. I've not bothered taxiing, just exit the runway, thank the controller and disconnect. I'll try spending more time after landing. All of my flights are filed IFR. On earlier flights I did taxi to the ramp a...

PEaware not archiving my flights in N4336D
I've been connecting lately using N4336D as my aircrft registration. None of my flights in that plane show up on PEaware. My flights in N3575X appear, but not 36D. Anyone know why, or should I contact PEaware? My audio with ATC is archived ok.

Re: FSX keyboard controls on X-plane. Will it work?
Installed my new GTX680 video card and all is working well. Frame rates in the high 30's to low 40's with good detail. Now I just have to learn how to fly in X-Plane. Time to shop ebay for a joy stick.

Re: FSX keyboard controls on X-plane. Will it work?
I'm sure the main problem is the video card. I have a new one on the way, a GTX 650 (I think I remember that correctly). The benchmarks for the new card show a speed improvement factor of 20x my current card. Plus it can use Directx 10 and 11. I'll post results here when it arrives.

Controller info?
Would it be of interest to anyone else to have a page on the website with photos and short bio's of the PE controllers? I've seen Keith in some of the promotional videos, but it would be nice to put a name and face to the other helpful voices on PE. Of course there would need to be an audio sample w...
