Re: X Plane 11

You can turn off sloped runways by editing your preferences file.

\Output\preferences\X-Plane.prf

Find the line for renopt_sloped_runways and set it to zero.

I really hope they give us back advanced options. Half the reason I'm in X-Plane is so I don't have to muck around with a lousy config file.

Re: One sound device, two audio streams (sim/ ambient + radi

I'll add my use case. I currently run a setup that uses 4 total audio devices. 1x Creative USB sound card 2x Behringer USB sound card 1x Presonus USB audio interface I route my main sim sounds, ATC, skype/discord, and microphone to their own distinct output channels. I've been running with this setu...

Re: [Nov 13 10am-1pm PST] Ski to Sea (ASE-SNA)

... did you by chance forget about me? Did I forget about you? I won’t say no, but I did have a plan. Sequencing is an art form and very difficult to learn and master. But it has some interesting characteristics. One of those characteristics is the point to which aircraft are sequenced. To understa...

Re: [Nov 13 10am-1pm PST] Ski to Sea (ASE-SNA)

What a privilege it was to work a segment of P/E traffic, specifically, Beach Sector, during the Ski to Sea fly-in. (...) The P/E staff works hard to maintain their skills and the quality of their hard work is evident with each transmission. Keep ‘em Flying. Was great to have you on as a controller...

Re: Pep talk please...

I personally mow down every drone I can find. Serves them right.

There have been some pretty spectacular mistakes made over the years by people who are still flying on the network. Don't sweat the small things, learn and move on :).

Re: Real Weather issues

OK thanks Keith. I guess I did notice a while back, the OAT's were way low and I was icing when I shouldn't have been. So what is everyone doing for altimeter settings now? Dropping the environment menu and updating it in flight? My guess is many have updated xplane to the latest release candidate....

Re: Strangest Positive Experience Ever

Glad to see you found your courage and made it on to the network, Marshall. Now you have no excuse not to start cutting videos on it! :D

That being said, I've got hundreds of hours on the network and still find myself getting terrified once in a while. It's all part of the joy.

Re: Runway 25R closure at KLAS

Could it be that I can once descend into vegas without rolling down the windows and asking everyone to stick their hands out? It'll be good to see things back to normal :). What's next?

IXEG 733 alt hold issues

Many of us noted that the new 733 was having major problems maintaining a steady climb rate and holding an altitude (with deviations +- 300 or more). It appears that XUIPC is the cause of this problem. Disabling and/or removing the plugin completely has cleared up the issue for a couple of us and ma...
