Re: I-11 Questions
Hi Peter, 9000 is the MEA for GPS equipped aircraft. 11000 is the MEA for non-GPS aircraft. 11000 is usually not available in that area for traffic as you guessed. We will look into adjusting the rating text to make that more clear. Got it, that makes sense. Yes adjusting the text would help since i...

I-11 Questions
Hello! I have some questions about the I-11 rating: One of the instructions indicates: File an altitude appropriate for your easterly flight, above the published Minimum Enroute Altitude (MEA) associated with the airway. I requested 11000 since the MEA for V442 is 10000. However when I filed my flig...

Re: Missed approach hold question KCRQ ILS-LOC 24
+1, that was my biggest takeaway!Just a tip, I would make sure the GPS backs up what I've read and interpreted from the plate rather than assuming the GPS is good to go.

Re: Missed approach hold question KCRQ ILS-LOC 24
Thank you Keith, that was also my interpretation. I had a missed approach at KCRQ recently and followed the holding pattern in the GPS (I should have looked closer at the plate). Missed approach hold question KCRQ ILS-LOC 24
The missed approach for KCRQ ILS-LOC 24 states: MISSED APPROACH: Climb to 3000 on heading 245 and on OCN VORTAC R-145 to OCN VORTAC and hold. https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/2101/pdf/05310IL24.PDF However the plate doesn't depict the holding pattern. What would ATC expect? The X-Plane GPS shows the ...

Re: Seeking feedback on VFR flight following
Thanks for the response Keith! What if I were already on flight following and I wanted to transition over LAX via the SFRA? Would I switch to the SFRA frequency (and squawk 1201) and back to the controller after?

Seeking feedback on VFR flight following
Hello! Yesterday I requested VFR flight following out of SMO. I asked for the mini route and missed the "unable" from my initial contact. I had mixed up the Mini Route and Special Flight Rules. When I finally understood what was happening I climbed back up...into the Bravo. What I'm ...
