Someone's getting a phone call

Interesting situation this evening, handled very well by the controller: http://audio.pilotedge.net/2019/11/2019-11-21_19_17510.mp3 starts at about 3:50. Aircraft not in radio contact does a lap of the pattern a KSMX. The call sign of the aircraft is pointed out, but does not return anything in PEAw...

Re: Landing at KCNO, do I need a clearance from KONT?

Best solution is to just be on flight following. Then you really don't have to think about it.

Re: Getting Started

Excellent points, and well written wmburns. I agree - you have FSX. Get it connected to PilotEdge and fly. Maybe try the X-plane demo. From there, look for a plane that better simulates the type of flying you want to accomplish. Trying to get all these graphical and weather upgrades up and running a...

Re: 560ti 1gig to 970 GTX or 980 Ti? worth it?

PS - If you think you're getting a killer deal on a 980 Ti for $500, it's probably the older 980 and not a Ti model.
Not $500, but I just purchased a 980 TI for $629.99. They are definitely not $800.

Re: A new 64 bit sim choice for all

Obviously no real details on the sim were given in the article, but considering Dovetail's other products (Train Simulator, etc), I have to assume this new product is going to be pretty limited in scope. Small areas to fly in, and not terribly realistic systems and simulation. But, it is called &quo...

This is kind of funny, but also kind of dark.

Personally, I just find a random plane of the same make and model and use it's tail number.

Re: I-3 -- practicing one specific part over and over..

I assume you mean the part where you are sent direct to SLI? If that is the case, your best bet isn't to practice departing KSNA over and over again. There will be a lot of overhead interacting with ATC to get instructions, get vectored around, etc. Going direct to a VOR is the same for any VOR anyw...

Re: ForeFlight FSX Integration for Training

We just had a Flightstream 210 installed in the Archer - basically the capabilities of a stratus built into the plane, along with the ability to sync flight plan information between the iPad and the panel. Super handy to push a complicated flight plan from ForeFlight over to the 430s. Full ADS weath...
