Re: Squawk code changing by itself?
Couple things going on here. Your MSFS setup is incomplete. You missed Step 3 in the process. "3. Go to Options > Assistance Options > Piloting to disable “AI Radio Communications (ATC)”. See the MSFS client download page and step 3 for an image of the settings window. If you're flying the CAT ...

Re: PFC AATD and PIlotedge
The current X-Plane client no longer supports XP9 if I remember correctly. Keith will be the only person able to get you running if that's the case. Emailing support is your only sure-fire way to reach him. However, he's been extremely busy with commercial contracts/obligations. Patience and persist...

CIC is not one of the airports serviced in the west. The west is operated a little differently that the ZLA coverage area. You can find a list of WUS airports in the link above.

Yeah, I agree. Backup and try. You may need to knock back settings to make it work smoothly but it should work.

Re: P3D Pro 3.4.22.19868 and Taxiway K at KSNA
I would say it's ideal to start looking at ways to update scenery in the BATD. Lockheed Martin will have the answers for you. The platform could be problematic down the line if you're unable.
