There is no way to control the PE volume, but you can turn your engine sounds down (either through the xplane sound menu or if the plane uses custom audio, it will normally include a mechanism for altering the engine audio volume). Alternatively, you could route your engine noise through speakers (by setting your speakers to be the default device) and have the ATC come through the headset (either by setting it as the default communications device or by specifying it in the plugin preferences).

Ok, lets try that. Too bad I don't have speakers but thank you Keith, great support as always.Keith Smith wrote:There is no way to control the PE volume, but you can turn your engine sounds down (either through the xplane sound menu or if the plane uses custom audio, it will normally include a mechanism for altering the engine audio volume). Jari, you're welcome. Do you have a screen with built-in speakers that's driven by HDMI? If so, it can be configured as a playback device.

You didn't mention windows or Linux. In Linux you can modify PE sound as it is treated as it's own sound source, listed as a Teamspeak plugin. So I can lower x-plane's 5 stream sources and raise PE per my liking.
