P3Dv4 and PE

Post by Kilstorm »

I can only imagine it will happen in the near future but as I am going down my list of addons to get an idea of how quickly I can expect to fully move over to v4, I am looking at the various forums of the developers to see their official post on the topic. Since Xplane is a 64bit platform it would seem that PE and the developers of it have got an idea of how to get that working so is there an official post I could be directed to about PE and v4?

PE doesn't run as a module within P3D. It runs as an entirely separate program that communicates via the SimConnect protocol. As a result, I don't anticipate any changes being required with P3D V4.

That's good news Keith.
Is there any chance of getting the P/E radio widget working soon?

Fsuipc will not be compatible. How do we program a push to talk button?

There will be an FSUIPC5 for P3D4, but first release won't coincide with the rather rushed (in my opinion) release of P3D4 on Tuesday. And FSUIPC5 will be a new product, not an upgrade. It's been too much work to have it as just an upgrade.
So, it is being actively worked on.

Just installed P3Dv4! :D

Reinstalled the Pilotedge App but this isn't working. Got Simconnect error which indicated the Pilotedge App couldn't detect flight simulator working.

Has any one got it working yet or do we need to wait for an upgrade to the App?

Another person reported the same thing on discord so it isn't just you. I'm waiting to hear back from my contact at lockheed martin about what we need to do.
