Do I go to 1200 and ident?
Or, just do nothing?
Can't seem to find explicit instruction anywhere.
Thanks!

When told to squawk VFR you just set your transponder to 1200. No ident.

Never “IDENT” without specific instruction to.
The feature provides the ATC with a flashing data lock on their scope to help indentify you (hence “ident”).
When ATC instructs you to “Squawk VFR”, they will usually be cancelling your radar services and sending you off.
Therefore, there is no need to identify you, and they won’t tell you to “Ident”.
