Who is using Foreflight?

I am a commercial pilot but hung up my spurs in 2015. I used Foreflight Pro Plus $199/yr when I was flying and now that I picked up X-Plane and PilotEdge I am really tempted to start using Foreflight again. Is anyone using Foreflight just for the Simulator? If so what level? I am concerned that I am just making an impulse purchase.

Tons of people use it for XPlane. But before you make the purchase, check out your free alternatives. AeroNavMap, FltPlnGo and LittleNavMap.

I Feel like such a newbie - but just wondering - I watch a lot of Youtube videos of Real life pilots, using IPADS for the Foreflight. I am a simmer, flew Piper Tomahawks 40 years ago...have full PE subscription, and anxious to use it. I have multiple monitors on my Sim Rig - instead of using Foreflight on an IPAD, is there a product that can use a seperate Monitor to act in the same way...I accept you dont have the pinch/zoom and touch capabilities, but following the aircraft in real time is cool, as well as airport diagrams and procedures.
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.
Thank you for a wonderful simulation product, that is available for us NON-Real Pilots.

Yeah, foreflight is a wonderful tool! But only as valuable as how you use it and from where. In my opinion, having it JUST for flight sim with anything but a basic plus sub is kind of excessive. I am only using it because I have a current US subscription. Once that expires, I will be either off it for good or on Canadian subscription (Covid-grounded Canadian pilot) from when it will only serve as a moving map for me. All my other data (plates, frequencies, etc...) will be coming from SkyVector and Navigraph data. I have yet to try FltPlanGo for my sim....but look forward to it.
It helps with briefings, with finding frequencies, and with knowing where you are. BUT....a well set up 2nd monitor with all that information displayed can work just as well and for FREE.
Hope that insight might help a bit.

Semi-related, but I use Garmin Pilot for both real and sim flights.

Same here. By using it in the sim since I dont fly in RL all that often, it keeps me current on the app and allows me to really unlock and discover all the best ways to use it as a EFB. Could not imagine using PE without it either. There are a lot of free sim addons that could be used as well as websites but having all the info a pilot needs in something they most likely would use in RL in the cockpit seems to be a more efficient way to train and stay current. As a simmer who never plans to pilot a plane then yeah I could see where it might be excessive for just simming, but for PE use, FF or GP are great tools to have if its within your budget. Especially if you can network it to your sim which is achievable in XPlane, MSFS and P3D via native or an addon called Xmapsy.

I let my Foreflight subscription expire as I transitioned from airplane ownership to sim addiction, and found the Navigraph Ultimate Package (includes Data + Charts) to be a far better value. Full Jeppesen approach and enroute for the entire world for 75 Euros per year, plus seamless integration with Simbrief, and usable on ipad/android/PC/Mac.

Don't want to start up a dead thread, but my biggest issue with Navigraph charts is GA ops. Having the aircraft position synced on your chart is invaluable but navigraph charts just doesnt support TAC / any form of VFR charts. For IFR is is great, but for VFR it is lacking. My solution to this which has worked really well is just to use the avitab plugin. You can actually download pretty much any chart (including TAC and FLY) and it supports position overlays. It has been absolutely amazing for me!
